ATLANTA — Atlanta police are mourning the loss of one of their own.

Police announced that K-9 Officer Kove passed away on Friday. Kove joined the APD K-9 unit in 2024.

Police say Kove helped in a major drug bust and he helped find the weapon used in the July shooting on Edgewood Avenue that left one dead and 10 others injured.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his handler and her family,” Atlanta police officials said.

The cause of death has not been released.
