Arrests made in murder of University of West Georgia student Three people have been arrested in connection with last week's murder of 23-year-old Tyler Ford.

Three people have been arrested in connection with last week's murder of a University of West Georgia student.

Carrollton Police Captain Chris Dobbs tells WSB that Seniya Asford-Conner and Arpege Jackson, both 18 and both University of West Georgia students, have been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Tyler Ford.

Eighteen-year-old Shadeed Dunson of Fulton County, has also been charged with murder.

"We do that these three individuals went to Mr. Ford's residence and were attempting to rob him. We believe you know, that it was possibly tied to narcotics," Dobbs says.

The University of West Georgia senior from Athens, was shot to death on Wednesday afternoon when he answered his door at the River Pointe Apartments.

Jackson is also believed be the ex-girlfriend of Ford.

The three are also suspected in an attempted robbery that happened earlier that day near the campus.

"Earlier in the day of the murder, we had an individual that was robbed also, or attempted robbery.  He was shot at an apartment complex right off campus also," Dobbs says.

But he said because the victim did not call 911, they didn't make the connection until a few hours later.

"We didn't know anything about that incident (attempted robbery) until we started looking at the victim's phone records,” Dobbs says.

"And then we went and found this individual and interviewed him and he said he had also been robbed.”

Dobbs says more charges and more arrests in the case could follow.
