The Carroll County sheriff's department has announced an arrest in the shooting death of a 9 months pregnant mother.

Nakita Holland, 36, was found dead inside her Carroll County home Monday night. Police believe the shooting happened either late Saturday night or earlier Sunday morning.

Police say Holland was shot multiple times.

Channel 2's Tom Regan also spoke to Holland's mother, Slynda Johnson, who said deputies made the arrest Thursday night.

Johnson said the woman's 2-year-old daughter was also at the house and may have witnessed the shooting. She was unharmed but relatives say the little girl was covered in her mother's blood.

Johnson said she wants justice for her family.

"Justice, that's what's going through my mind, because I know there's going to be justice," Johnson said. "She's gone. They took my daughter away from me. Yes they did. But I know whoever it is, there's going to be justice. You're not going to be able to hide."

Family members say Holland was expected to deliver a baby next week.

Holland's family says they are making funeral arrangements.
