NEW YORK CITY — Delta Air Lines said two passengers on a flight from New York City to Atlanta exited the plane as it was taxiing out.
It happened Monday morning at LaGuardia Airport. A spokesperson said the passengers opened the cabin door and exited the plane via the emergency slide.
According to WSB′s ABC affiliate in New York, the passengers also are believed to have taken a service dog with them down the slide.
Delta said their technicians evaluated the aircraft and the flight was scheduled to return to service.
“The aircraft returned to the gate where the remaining customers deplaned normally and were accommodated on alternate flights,” Delta’s statement said.
It is unknown if the passengers will face charges or what their future status with Delta will be.
