A grand jury in Hancock County, southeast of Atlanta, has completed its investigation into last October's brawl following the football game against arch-rival Warren County. They decided not to indict anyone.
After the game, which Warren County won, they found themselves locked out of the visitors' locker room. Rival players started pushing and shoving, and Warren County coach David Daniel stepped in to try and break it up.
D.A. Fred Bright quotes from grand jury testimony, "The coach then pushed player three times, and hit player in the face."
The testimony says the Hancock Central player hit back, breaking several bones in the coach's face.
Coach David Daniel has since undergone repeated surgeries. Would a Warren County grand jury have reached a different conclusion?
"That'd be pure speculation; I'm in no position to answer that," said Bright.
