Roswell Police are investigating the theft of weapons and ammunition belonging to a Federal Reserve System police officer.
A Glock 22 handgun, a PS90 rifle, four boxes of ammunition and four magazines were taken sometime Friday from the unidentified officer's personal vehicle. Roswell Police Lt. James McGee told Channel 2 Action News the thefts may have occurred at one of four different locations.
Before he noticed the items were gone, the officer was at the Sharp Shooters USA indoor shooting range on Alpharetta Highway, the El Porton Mexican Restaurant on Alpharetta Highway and a gas station and a daycare center in Gwinnett County.
Police said the security cover on the cargo area of the vehicle was damaged and there were a pair of pry marks on the driver’s side door lock.
Because he worked a double shift on Saturday, the officer didn't report the thefts until Sunday.
