A Georgia company that normally produces and sells CBD products, totally shifts gears to help in the fight against the coronavirus.
GAXtracts CEO Don Barden tells WSB clearly the need for hand sanitizers is more important than what they normally produce.
"It's part of this great shift, right? So, we're phyto-molecular extractors. So we work at a molecular level with plants and we've been able to shift our factories to produce industrial-strength hand sanitizers," said Barden.
Atlanta-based Coca Cola also stepped up to help. "They said, 'you know, we know how to make bottles,' so they're donating bottles for the effort. It's just an amazing thing that has come together with people making this happen and being creative," said Barden.
Last week, Barden says the company distributed 100,000 bottles and he says they expect to do 250,000 to 500,000 this week.
"It's backed up. We have more people calling than we have the capacity to deliver; but we're committed to delivering. So, we just work longer, we work harder, we stay on the phones more and we figure this thing out," said Barden.
He says unlike some companies, they can get the products into people's hands within a week compared to some companies who can only promise the product in about a month.
