HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Hall County Fire Services confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the department responded to a reported drowning Sunday night.

The drowning was reported in the area of Sunrise Cove Marina, which is located on Lake Lanier, around 6 p.m.

A Hall County Fire spokesman said the department searched for a hour using sonar but weren’t able to locate anyone.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Hall County Sheriff’s Office are now working on recovery efforts. Channel 2 Action News has reached out to both departments for more information.
