One customer was hit in the head with a blunt object by several suspects who robbed a Gwinnett County jewelry store in broad daylight.

It happened at Tara Fine Jewelry on Buford Highway.

Four or five bandits stormed into the store about lunchtime Tuesday and demanded everybody lie on the floor.

At least some of the robbers were armed.

The customer that was hit in the head was not seriously hurt, police said.

Andy Anderson's family owns the store.  He tells Channel 2 Action News, "You just always know something like this could happen."

The suspects took off in an SUV, getting away with an undisclosed amount of loot.

Police report the robbery was caught on surveillance video.
