DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Dekalb County residents are being warned about a jury duty scam.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says some people received calls from scammers posing as sheriff’s office employees and claimed the resident missed jury duty and must pay a fine to avoid arrest.

Officials say the scam callers instruct the intended victims to buy pre-paid cards or provide personal information.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office will never ask for money or call people regarding warrants.
