CARTERSVILLE, GA — A young boy is dead after being shot at his home in Cartersville, according to police.

Officers responded to a residence on 29 Weaver Street, where they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries, investigators said.

Authorities have not released the boy’s age or any additional details as the investigation into the shooting continues.
