ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY, GA — After a hazing complaint, the University of Georgia has paused new membership activity at the Sigma Chi fraternity.

The complaint alleges that freshmen were forced to drink alcohol “beyond their capacity.”

Fraternity leaders were also accused of making pledges send videos of themselves chugging alcohol during the summer.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating since the fraternity is located off campus.
