Local victims of accused killer speak out

Alberto Palmer Suspect in Minnesota murder and several attacks in Atlanta.

The alleged victims of a man who is now charged with murder in Minnesota are breathing easier, but not that much easier.

"I'm still not happy," says one woman who says Alberto Palmer attacked her last year in Chamblee.  "I won't be happy until he gets what he deserves.  He deserves to suffer.  He deserves the death penalty."

Palmer, 23, was arrested on Wednesday in Minneapolis for the murder of Brittany Clardy.  Police say the 18 year old worked as an escort and that is how she came in contact with Palmer.

Court papers say Clardy went to Palmer's apartment on February 11 and the two engaged in sex.  Palmer reportedly told police they "began to tussle" and he choked her until she lost consciousness.

He then, reportedly, struck her on the back of her head with a hammer.  Palmer told police he put her body in the back of her car, drove it to another apartment complex and kept it there with the body covered by blankets and other things.

Clarity's body was discovered in an impound lot after the girl's mother reported the car missing.

When police went to Palmer's home they found blood soaked carpeting and a pair of pants they believe belonged to Clardy.

The murder of the 18 year old sounds similar to the stories told by three women in Chamblee, who claim Palmer attacked them.

"When I was told about the arrest I thought, 'Great,'" says one victim.  "But, when I was told about the girl I started crying as if my mother died."

She says what Clardy went through in her last hours, brought back some very harsh and painful memories of when Palmer attacked her.

"I thought about that poor girl, because I knew what she was going through during that time," she tells WSB.  "I was found sort of like her, but I broke myself free.

"I was in the backseat of my car." she says.  "I was duct taped, tied up with my hands and feet behind my, wrapped in two blankets and inside a storage crate," she says.  After a nearly 36 hour ordeal she was able to break free.

All three women in Chamblee say they have lived in fear since the attacks, worried that they would run into Palmer again.

And while he is locked up in Minnesota, the women have mixed feelings.

"I am so glad they finally caught him," one says.  "But it's bittersweet when I think that someone had to die before he was arrested."

Palmer is being held on a $2 million bond in Minnesota.  He is due back in court on April 10
