Church fire in Snellville deliberately set

Person of interest in Snellville church arson Surveillance photos show a person of interest in the Thursday overnight arson fire at the Zoar United Methodist Church in Snellville. Investigators are asking for the for the public’s help in identifying the man.

Surveillance photos may help track down a person of interest in an arson fire in Snellville targeting a church.

Gwinnett County Fire confirm that someone vandalized the church then deliberately set it on fire.  The fire caused minor damage to a kitchen inside Zoar United Methodist Church near Centerville Highway.

The individual in the photos is a white male, approximately 18-26 years of age, and is seen wearing torn blue jeans, a dark hooded jacket, and a striped shirt.  The photos were captured at a local business prior to the fire being reported.

The sprinkler system inside the building extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived.  A reward of up to ten thousand dollars is available to catch and convict the arsonist. Authorities ask anybody with information may be helpful in solving this case to please call 9-1-1 or the Gwinnett Fire Arson & Explosives Section at 678-518-4890.
