ACCPD officer arrested on domestic violence charges

An Athens-Clarke County Police Officer is arrested on charges on domestic violence charges: counts against Sadiki McBarnette include simple battery. The Athens-Clarke County Police Department says McBarnette has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an ongoing internal investigation.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is reporting the arrest of Sadiki McBarnette, a recruit officer with ACCPD. The arrest stems from a Family Violence Simple Battery that occurred on March 22, 2021. McBarnette is charged with Simple Battery-Family Violence and Criminal Trespass to Property[1]Family Violence. McBarnette has been placed on paid Administrative Leave pending an internal investigation. Sadiki McBarnette has been employed by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department since May of 2019.
