The union supporting air traffic controllers warns about staffing issues because of the ongoing government shutdown.

National Air Traffic Controllers Association President Nick Daniels says the shut down is putting travelers in jeopardy with workers worried about paying bills.

“This introduces a new risk to aviation,” said Daniels.

This is the first day air traffic controllers began receiving partial paychecks.
