BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — The manager of an assisted living center in Barrow County, Georgia has been arrested for allegedly stealing medicine.
Daniel E. Rampey, 67, a manager at Magnolia Estates of Winder Assisted Living Center, is facing a burglary charge said Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, according to WSB-TV.
BCSO said they became aware of allegations of a “suspicious activity” that involved missing medications over the last few weeks. According to WSB-TV, surveillance video reportedly captured Rampey on Dec. 15 leaving the assisted living center after allegedly taking some controlled substances from the unit.
According to WSB-TV, Rampey is also the District 116 state representaive-elect and covers parts of Barrow County.
Rampey has been charged with unauthorized distribution or possession of a controlled substance, burglary and exploitation and intimidation of disabled adults, elderly persons and residents, according to WSB-TV.
It is not clear if Rampey is still employed at Magnolia Estates of Winder Assisted Living Center. The investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
