UNION CITY, Ga. — Wild video footage shows the moments a train plowed into a transfer truck while it was stuck on the railroad tracks in Union City Monday morning.
The video, which was shared with our partners at Channel 2 Action News, shows a train laying on its horn as the truck straddles the tracks on Watson Street.
A woman, who appears to be the truck’s driver, stands perilously close to the truck’s cab as someone across the street and yells for her to watch out.
The CSX train plows directly through the truck’s cab, pushing the cab sideways and off the track. The woman runs away and doesn’t appear to be harmed.
The train speeds on through what looks like a cloud of debris.
A Channel 2 Action News photographer at the scene learned that the truck had been carrying bags of cat litter.
Crews are still at the scene working to clean up the crash.
