ATLANTA — A new study suggests eating an avocado every day may reduce the risk of heart disease in obese adults.
Researchers at Penn State University found that regularly eating avocados reduced low-density lipoprotein particles, which are proteins that transport bad cholesterol in the blood.
According to the study’s authors, the reduction in those particles translates to an estimated 4% reduction in heart disease risk among adults who are obese.
