ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train early Tuesday morning in Rockdale County. The sheriff’s office says a train conductor called authorities around 4:45 a.m. to report a collision involving a pedestrian.

The incident happened between Deere Drive and Earl O’Neal Park. The person, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
