All lanes of Moreland Avenue were blocked Friday morning after a wreck involving an off-duty police officer.

The MARTA officer was injured in the crash, which happened about 7 a.m. in the 600 block of Moreland near Pendleton Street, south of Glenwood Avenue.

The extent of the injury to the officer was not immediately known.

A utility pole and lines were also knocked down in the crash.

Moreland Avenue remained blocked in both directions just before 8 a.m.
