Several people have been arrested after a months-long criminal street gangs and narcotics investigation in Habersham County.

Habersham County officials said on April 21, a handful of suspects were arrested and charged during a search warrant operation conducted at two residences.

Earlier in April, multiple suspects were also arrested during a traffic stop.

Authorities added that part of the investigation included criminal street gang members and associates carrying out an assault on an inmate at the Habersham County Detention Center.

The group arrested on April 21 were found to be associated with the accused gang members through the sale and trafficking of illegal narcotics such as methamphetamine, fentanyl and firearms, deputies said.

The following are the suspects who were arrested in connection with the operation, as well as other charges:

• Nigel Alan Waddell, 34, Mt. Airy – trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana,
• Amber Nicole Addis, 29, of Clarkesville – trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and
• Clinton Josiah Davis, 40, of Cleveland – trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
• David Lee Nix, 34, Demorest – trafficking in Schedule II controlled substance – fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felony, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of theft by receiving stolen vehicle, theft by receiving stolen firearm, theft by receiving stolen tools, criminal damage to property, and owning, operating, or conducting a chop shop;
• Eric Edward Thompson, 39, Clarkesville – possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony,
• Anthony Bryson Ewing, 21, Maysville – outstanding warrants, and
• Benjamin Joel Babcock, 39, Homer – outstanding warrants.
• Douglas Waylon Davis, 42, of Cornelia – trafficking methamphetamine, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, and
• Bobby James Ayers, 50, of Alto – possession of methamphetamine, possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

A total of 1,518 grams of methamphetamine, 214 grams of marijuana, 13 grams of fentanyl, 14 guns and approximately $4,466 cash were taken as a result of this investigation.

Authorities said additional charges and arrests are possible in this investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
