HALL COUNTY, GA — A lack of rainfall has had an impact on levels at Lake Lanier.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the lake has received significantly less rainfall than normal for this time of the year and levels are just above the median elevation.

Officials are watching the levels closely on the lake, with a very dry forecast for the next several weeks.

Officials are reminding boaters to watch for underwater hazards, including tree stumps that may potentially be closer to the surface.
