A Kaiser Permanente employee sexually assaulted a woman in an examining room at an urgent care center in Gwinnett County, according to a police report.
The victim, in her early 20s, came to the Kaiser Permanente facility on Steve Reynolds Boulevard seeking medical care.
Anh Cu, 31, a care technician at the facility, told the victim to “go ahead and get ready for the examination, get rid of her clothes,” Cpl. Wilbert Rundles of the Gwinnett County Police told Channel 2 Action News.
Cu then began touching her inappropriately, police say.
The suspect has been charged with sexual assault. Shortly after his arrest, he was released on bail.
According to a spokesperson for Kaiser Permanente, Cu was fired after allegations surfaced in May.
“We take allegations of misconduct very seriously, and we take action to protect our patients,” the spokesperson said. “Immediately after this allegation was made, law enforcement was involved, and we conducted a thorough internal investigation.”
