Georgia 911 dispatcher dies after being ejected in crash, hit by truck on I-75

A Georgia 911 dispatcher was killed after a truck hit her car and then another truck hit her on the side of the road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Haley Cunningham, 28, was an employee with Whitfield County 911.

GSP said Cunningham was driving on I-75 NB around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday when she lost control of her car, a KIA Fort, and hit the center median. The car stopped in the middle lane of the highway facing the opposite direction.

According to the crash report, Cunningham’s car was hit by a tractor-trailer, which threw her from the car. That truck overturned.

A flat-bed trailer then hit Cunningham, who was in the right travel lane. Cunningham died at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They have not been identified.

I-75 was shut down for nearly three hours while crews cleared the scene.

Whitfield County 911 issued a statement on their Facebook page, saying;

“Haley passed away earlier this morning. She had been a valued member on our team and will be missed. Please keep Haley’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.”
