A Cartersville woman is suing the producers of the reality show, "Girls Gone Wild" after they published nude pictures of her eight years ago, when she was only 14.
Lindsey Boyd spoke to Channel 2 Action News in hopes of keeping what happened to her from happening to other young girls.
During a spring break trip to Florida, when was 14, Boyd and her friends were asked by men if they would "flash them." The girls did and the men took pictures and sold them to "Girls Gone Wild" producers. Boyd's photo ended up on the video cover and national television commercials.
"Teachers knew about it, coaches knew about it, my friend got caught cheating on a test, he said that if I would sign the video, he wouldn't turn her in," Boyd explained.
Because of the video and photo, Boyd said she had to change high school three times.
Now the 26-year-old woman has acquired an attorney to find out if she can sue for being exploited as a young teen.
She's suing the company of Joe Francis, the owner of "Girls Gone Wild" who's been under a lot of legal scrutiny lately.
The case is before the Georgia Supreme Court and the question is whether or not a 14-year-old can consent to be in a video with nudity? And, can the company use the video picture and distribute it for a porn company?
Boyd's attorney, Jeff Banks says, "there is really no law in Georgia that governs this. That's clear."
Attorneys for "Girls Gone Wild" have not responded to media inquiries.
Boyd is now pregnant with a baby girl and says she hopes her daughter will not have to go thru anything like this.
