COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County is installing new signs designed to encourage motorists to slow down.

The signs display a driver’s speed and alert them when they are exceeding the posted limit, Cobb County Commissioner Joann Birrell said.

Birrell added that the county is looking for ways to improve traffic calming in these high-traffic areas.

The new signs are a subtle effort to slow speeders.

Police across metro Atlanta have issued warnings for drivers to slow down, especially in school zones.
