CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police are investigating a deadly ATV accident that killed a child Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened on Highway 138 near Highway 314. Investigators on the scene confirmed to Channel 2′s Tom Jones a child has died.

“During the investigation, Clayton County police officers learned that the juvenile was attempting to cross Highway 138 from one side to the other side on his ATV when he was struck and killed by a vehicle,” Clayton County police said in a news release.

The child’s age and name have not been released. The accident is still under investigation.
