According to a new survey of 2,000 people from Talker Research, Americans only get about 9-and-a-half hours of alone time every month.

Respondents say family obligations, work commitments, and financial constrains prevent them from having more time alone.

Nearly 40% of them also say they’ve lied to a partner, friends, or family to get some time to themselves.
