79-year-old man charged in connection with metro Atlanta shooting

BROOKHAVEN, GA — A 79-year-old man was arrested and faces charges in connection to a shooting that left another man injured last week in metro Atlanta.

Brookhaven police responded to a person shot call in the Cherokee Plaza parking lot at the 3800 block of Peachtree Road on March 22 around 10 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 75-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the abdominal area. The victim was rushed to the hospital. The current extent of his injuries are unknown.

On Wednesday, police arrested Vesselin G. Tzvetkov in the area of E. Club Drive in Brookhaven.

He faces multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

The shooting remains under investigation.
