Air National Guard to fly over Atlanta, other parts of Georgia to honor health care workers

Many of you are going to be in for a treat as another fly over is planned for Georgia Friday morning.

This time, it’s the Georgia Air National Guard’s 165th Airlift Wing that will be in the air.

The Commander of the Georgia Air National Guard posted on Facebook that its aircraft will begin its flyover at 10 a.m. The route will hit Ellijay, Gordon County, south over Atlanta to Phoebe Putney Medical Center in Albany, Waycross, Brunswick and areas around Savannah.

The air show is to thank medical workers on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19.

We’ve seen other flyovers in Georgia in the last couple weeks.

The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels soared across the skies in metro Atlanta on May 2.

And just Thursday, a C-130 Hercules aircraft from Dobbins Air Reserve Base flew around to honor health care workers.
