GUILFORD, Ct. — Four people died early Sunday in Guilford, Connecticut, after a head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver, police confirmed.

According to the Connecticut State Police, the crash occurred on southbound Interstate 95 at around 2:45 a.m., the Connecticut Post reported.

Per the accident report, a Nissan Altima driven by 22-year-old Luis Garduno-Cidals was traveling north in I-95′s left southbound lane, WTNH reported.

According to troopers, Garduno-Cidals’ Altima struck a Chevrolet Colorado driven by 76-year-old Johnny Bookhardt and carrying passengers Caroline Bookhardt, 68, and Patricia Greene-Kessler, 66, the TV station reported.

Local officials confirmed to WTNH that the vehicles collided head-on, killing all four people involved.
