ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Damar Hamlin is expected to watch Sunday’s AFC wild-card playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, from his home, CBS Sports reported.

According to a report on “The NFL on CBS,” Hamlin was going to watch the game from his home. An earlier report from The Associated Press had indicated that the 24-year-old would be in attendance when the Bills (13-3) hosted Miami (9-8) at Highmark Stadium.

Hamlin confirmed that he would watch the game from home in a tweet.

“Supporting from home as I focus on my recovery,” Hamlin wrote on Twitter on Sunday afternoon. “Nothing I want more than to be out there with them!”

Original report: The Associated Press, citing an anonymous source with “direct knowledge” of the player’s schedule, said that the 24-year-old, a second-year player from the Pittsburgh area who starred at the University of Pittsburgh, planned to attend the game at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills have not released any details about Hamlin’s plans, according to the AP.

Hamlin visited his teammates on Saturday but has not been seen in public since he was critically injured on Jan. 2 after making a tackle during a key AFC game against the Bengals in Cincinnati.

Bills linebacker Matt Milano posted a photo on his Instagram stories account of Hamlin, smiling and shaking hands with a teammate on Saturday.

Hamlin was cleared to leave a Buffalo hospital on Wednesday after undergoing final tests at Buffalo General Medical Center, two days after he was released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after collapsing on the field in a Jan. 2 game against the Bengals.

Hamlin tackled Cincinnati’s Tee Higgins with 5:58 left in the first quarter on Jan. 2, The Buffalo News reported. Hamlin stood up but immediately collapsed to the turf. The Bills said that Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated on the field.

Hamlin spoke with his teammates during a Zoom call on Jan. 6 as the Bills prepared to face the New England Patriots, according to ESPN. He exchanged hand messages, flexed his muscles and spoke to them by saying, “Love you boys,” and teammates responded by clapping and cheering.

Moments after the Bills honored Hamlin in an emotional pregame ceremony, Nyheim Hines returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. Hines later returned another kickoff 101 yards for a score as the Bills earned a 35-23 victory against New England.

Hamlin FaceTimed with the team after the victory and was presented with the game ball, NFL.com reported.
