MILWAUKEE — One child was killed and another one was wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Milwaukee, authorities said.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, an 11-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl were both hit by gunfire at about 9 p.m. CDT, WITI reported.
Both girls were inside a vehicle with family members when an approaching vehicle opened fire and struck both children, according to WTMJ.

The family immediately drove to the District 7 police station for help, the television station reported. Police officers conducted first aid until the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived, according to a news release.
The 11-year-old, who was in critical condition, later died at an area hospital, WITI reported. The 5-year-old is in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
