Weather permitting, road work could create delays for commuters in Sandy Springs along I-285 by Georgia/400, and on Georgia/400 between Hammond Drive (Exit 4C) and Holcomb Bridge Road (Exit 7).

More work on the west side of the I-285 Perimeter may block lanes by Camp Creek Pkwy (Exit 2) and near Hollowell Pkwy. (Exit 12). Paving projects in Atlanta for Piedmont Road by Habersham and Roswell Roads, as well as in Kennesaw along much of Barrett Parkway east of Cobb Parkway (Hwy. 41) may also create nighttime delays, if not postponed by projected rain showers all weekend.

Downtown Atlanta traffic flow will be heavy by State Farm Arena, with singer Marc Anthony in concert Friday night, and the home opener for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks Saturday.

Add the “Strides Against Breast Cancer” 5K” by Georgia World Congress Center side streets Saturday to the Atlanta Falcons’ NFL battle the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz for Sunday, and you may experience packed streets through the weekend!

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ZONES:

• Sandy Springs: Georgia/400 South from Holcomb Bridge Road (Exit 7) to Northridge Road (Exit 6), during overnight hours.
• Sandy Springs: Georgia/400 North ramp to I-285/West (Exit 4B) to be blocked, at times, during overnight hours.
• Sandy Springs/Dunwoody: I-285 East and West, between Glenridge Drive (Exit 26) and Ashford-Dunwoody Road (Exit 29). Expect lane restrictions.
• Cobb Co.: I-75/South from Chastain Road (Exit 271). One right lane to be blocked during overnight hours.
• Fulton Co.: I-285/South before Camp Creek Parkway (Exit 2), in two lanes during overnight hours.
• Atlanta: I-285/South near Hollowell Parkway (Exit 12) in right lanes during overnight hours.
• Atlanta: Road paving along Piedmont Rd. near Habersham and Roswell Roads to restrict lanes during weekend overnight hours.
• Cobb Co.: Barrett Parkway/eb-wb between Cobb Parkway (Hwy. 41) and I-575 exit ramps. Expect paving work to block multiple lanes during evening hours.
