Survelliance video of East Paulding HS vandalism released

East Paulding High School vandalism

Paulding County School District administrators have released surveillance footage from East Paulding High School that shows students spray-painting and vandalizing dozens of buildings.

The video is grainy, but it does show more than two dozen students performing their senior prank early on Sunday March 11.

“There's not a good prank,” Associate Paulding Co. superintendent Brian Otott told Channel 2 Action News.  “We encourage all of our seniors (and) all students, to think before they act."

The students spray-painted Seniors 2012 in at least 100 different places. 24 people have been arrested and charged with felony interference with government property.

Most of the damage has been cleaned up, but school administrators say there is still some work today. The cleanup has cost the school $7,500.

"Any tax dollars that's spent, we're accountable for and from our perspective, restitution would be something we're interested in,"

The students also face disciplinary action from the school along with criminal charges. Otott says punishments range from in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, or expulsion.
