NEW YORK — A new study from New York University suggests that many people who caught COVID-19 now have a weaker sense of smell, and they may not even realize it.

It tested COVID-19 patients and found two-thirds of people who didn’t report any problems with their sense of smell still scored low on smell tests.

Researchers say the number of people with a diminished sense of smell may be much higher than previously thought.
