AUSTELL, GA — Three men are found guilty on all counts for the 2022 murder of a man in Austell on Wednesday.
21-year-old Christian Dejerinett, 23-year-old Jermonie Suttles, and 47-year-old Dion Williams were found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, home invasion, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Douglas County Assistant District Attorney Roland Turner says it happened off Tree Terrace Parkway in Austell three years ago.
Williams threatened the victim, Corey Myers, on social media.
Through Facebook messages, Turner says Williams said, “I’m going to show you my reach” and warned Myers that he was going to be the last person he steals from.
Then, not long after, two other men forced their way into Myers’ apartment and shot and killed him.
Myers was on the phone with 911 dispatchers throughout the whole thing, even telling them he had just been shot in the chest.
He was taken to an area hospital where he died.
Turner says investigators had very little to go off of in the wake of the shooting at first, but then one key piece of evidence came to light.
GPS tracking revealed that each of the three men had their cell phones on them when they were out committing the crime.
Sentencing for the three men is set for Friday.
