NORCROSS, GA — Three children were hospitalized Thursday evening after escaping a house fire in Norcross.

The Gwinnett County fire department responded to the fire just before 8:00 p.m. at a single-family, two-story, split-foyer home on Wandering Way.

When firefighters arrived on scene, flames were shooting from the front and back side of the house.

Four adults, three kids, and a dog were on the property when the fire started.  Lt. Jessica says two children were in critical condition another child had minor injuries. One adult was treated at the scene.

The home had no working smoke alarms. The American Red Cross was requested by the homeowner.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
