Johns Creek Police: Search underway for man accused in double shooting

(FULTON COUNTY, Ga.) — Police in Johns Creek are searching for a suspect in an early morning double shooting.

Authorities say the suspect, Abdul Rashid, broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend, Heather Quiggle, on Plantation Bridge Drive just after 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

That is when police say he shot Quiggle in the chest and her current boyfriend, Jerrold Knight, in the leg.

Quiggle’s 20-year-old son was also home at the time and heard the altercation. He was able to escape through a window to a neighbor’s house to get help.

Rashid had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Police say Rashid is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and has gray hair and a close-cut beard. He was last seen driving a 2013 black Nissan Altima with Georgia tag RUR4954. He is considered armed and dangerous.

At this time, police said Rashid is wanted for two counts of aggravated assault.

The victims are in stable condition at the hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
