Gwinnett County police investigators are looking for two men tied to a local rap group in the murder of another man at a hotel on Venture Parkway.
Suspect Cory Marzette, 22, and another unidentified man, can be seen on surveillance video walking up the room at the Quality Inn with guns in hand. Moments later they can be seen running away.
Cpl. Deon Washington tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish the suspects are believed to be members of the rap group 2-G, and opened fired into a group gathered for a party for rival group Migos.
“We’ve got documented instances of violence between these two groups in the past six months… essentially they’re warring with one another to try and increase popularity through violence,” he says.
The victim in the shooting, 23-year-old Paris Brown, died of his injuries hours later.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to arrest in the case.
