The answers to your health questions can literally be at your fingertips. A new mobile app designed to help users get a better understanding of medical lab work is being unveiled at the Clinical Lab Expo this week in Atlanta.

Figuring out test results following a doctor's visit can be difficult and sometimes even simple medical tests for cholesterol and blood work can be challenging to interpret. Now, there's a new app designed to help you decipher the medical jargon. The CDC's Laboratory Quality Management Program Director, Dr. Roberta Carey, says the app is called "Lab Tests Online."

"We go home and get a lab report or we start thinking and say, 'Oh, gosh, I've got all these questions.' But you're no longer in your physician's office to ask those," said Carey.

She says you can find information for any kind of test you may undergo.

"When people do have concerns and questions they want information as fast as possible. This new availability maximizes that," said Carey.

The "Lab Tests Online" app is free and can be downloaded to any smartphone.
