Roswell Police are investigating after a man was shot outside of the Seven Pines Apartments.  A maintenance worker found the victim Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Lisa Holland tells Channel 2 Action News the man was conscious and alert, but said he been there injured for some time.

"He was walking through the complex so he definitely could've been shot somewhere else," said Holland.

The man, who was shot in the buttocks, said he'd been drinking Tuesday night and was shot while walking in the complex.

Authorities say the injury would've been more severe had the bullet not gone through a leather belt before hitting him.
