An investigation is underway after a musician was allegedly attacked by a woman in California.

According to TMZ, former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was attacked by what may have been a stalker in Santa Monica.

TMZ says Buckingham appeared for an appointment on Wednesday when the attack happened. The woman allegedly doused Buckingham with an unknown substance, TMZ says.

It is unclear what led up to the alleged attack. Police are searching for the alleged attacker, TMZ says.

The incident remains is under investigation.
