DULUTH, Ga. — We all can use a helping hand.

A Duluth police officer went above and beyond the call of duty to help a mother in need.

The act of kindness was all caught on a lobby camera.

Officer Michelle Johnson was working court security when she saw a mother struggling to juggle her upset infant and trying to complete her fingerprint check for the job.

Officials say that instead of looking away, Johnson offered to help the mother.

The mother accepted the offer — Johnson began holding the baby, and the mother was able to complete her fingerprints. The mother was also able to get some warm water to warm up a baby bottle.

The department says that Johnson’s kind act demonstrated incredible compassion toward the mother and her situation.
