Officers with the Kennesaw Police Department found a large tortoise outside someone's house Sunday morning.

Kennesaw Police Department Officer Steketee and CCAC Officer Seed were dispatched to a residence when residents Scott and Hannah spotted an African spurred tortoise taking a walk in their yard.

He or she appeared to be healthy and well taken care of.

Cobb County Animal Control told Channel 2 Action News the owner later claimed the tortoise Sunday afternoon.
