A husband and father who disappeared while getting a car emissions test over the weekend has been found dead, Atlanta police say.
Nicholas Bachhuber, 33, was last seen at his southwest Atlanta home on Sunday when he told his wife he was taking the car for the test. His wife told police she spoke to him less than two hours later and he said he was coming home, but never arrived.
Police announced that Bachhuber’s body was found on Tuesday morning. They are waiting on a report from the medical examiner’s office to determine an official cause of death.
Investigators say there was no foul play involved.
Bachhuber and his wife are expecting their second child, and have a 1-year-old son, according to the family.
“This family has had an unspeakably hard year,” the family said in a statement.
The community is rallying around the family with a GoFundMe campaign that raised more than $100,000 in a matter of hours to support them.
