ATLANTA — A car chase involving Georgia State Patrol lead to a shootout and several cars crashed on Boulevard Avenue near Grant Park Wednesday afternoon.
NewsChopper 2 was over the scene, where at least three cars were crashed and crime scene tape was strung up across the intersection.
It’s unclear if anyone was hurt or what led to the chase.
Channel 2′s Candace McGowan talked to a neighbor, who saw three officers with their guns drawn. Officers were primarily focused on a maroon car that had crashed into a light pole.
Video shows the moments after the incident unfolded. A man who appears to be injured face-down on the ground in front of one of the crashed cars. Officers later take two handguns from him before he’s put on a stretcher.
The video shows another man being handcuffed on the ground.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to the scene.
McCowan talked to a neighbor, who said he heard at least four gunshots.
“Very wild,” Cleveland Pope said. “Right in front of your door here. This is a pretty safe neighborhood, but things go on.”
None of the people involved in the incident have been identified and their conditions have not been released.
