ATLANTA — Georgia is set to receive millions in federal funding for recovery from Hurricane Helene

The hurricane caused significant damage across parts of Georgia and the Southeast when it moved through the region in September 2024.

The state will receive $58 million, which will go to the Georgia Department of Transportation for debris removal operations.

In addition, FEMA officials have approved more than $970 million to support recovery efforts across the Southeast.
