What an eviction crew found in Hall County prompted a brief explosives scare.
Police called out GBI bomb techs. As it turns out, the explosives were just modified fireworks.
"It was just unusual," said neighbor Amy Chosewood. "Typically, on any given day, Walnut Grove is just your regular family neighborhood."
Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks with the Hall County Sheriff's Office tells Channel 2 Action News that neighbors were never in any real danger.
"They're dangerous," Wilbanks said of the modified fireworks. "They would hurt somebody if they were holding them when they detonated, but it's not anything that would destroy a structure."
Authorities will determine whether the fireworks were modified enough to justify any kind of criminal charges.
